Don't buy a new
pressure washer.
Replace the plug.

If your GFCI plug trips, won't reset, or died in the rain, your pressure washer, pool pump or power tool usually isn't broken. The plug is. Swap it in about 5 minutes.

// Which one do I need?

Pick by how you use it.

All three give the same Class A shock protection. The difference is what happens after a trip, and whether you want to wire anything.

If you…

…run a pool pump, hot tub, or anything left running on its own

After a power blip or a cleared fault, it restores power by itself, so your pump doesn't sit dead until someone notices. A real ground fault still keeps it tripped.

Auto-Reset GFCI Plug
If you…

…hold the tool in your hands: pressure washer, saw, grinder

After a trip, power stays off until you press RESET. You decide when the tool comes back on, never by surprise.

Manual-Reset GFCI Plug
If you…

…don't want to cut or rewire anything

Plug it into the wall, plug your tools or lights into it. Three lighted outlets, GFCI protection for all of them, zero wiring.

Four steps. Done.

Each plug ships with the strain relief, back cover, grommets for 18, 16 and 14 AWG cords, and screws already in place.

The GFCI extension cord needs no install. Plug it into the wall and you're protected.

  1. 1

    Unplug and strip

Unplug the cord from the wall. Cut off the dead plug. Strip the outer jacket back 21–22 mm, then each wire 8–9 mm.

  2. 2

    Match wire to terminal

BLK → brass  WHT → silver  GRN → green. Tighten each screw clockwise.

  3. 3

    Clamp and close

Tighten the strain-relief clamp over the outer jacket and close the housing so the gasket seals.

  4. 4

    Test before use

Plug in → light on. Press TEST → power cuts. Press RESET → power back. You're protected.

// Why Kaper

Built past the minimum.

Checks itself

The replacement plugs self-test within 5 seconds of power-up, then again every 15 minutes, so you know the protection is actually working.

6,000+ test cycles

Factory-tested to more than 6,000 cycles, double what the UL 943 standard asks for.

Rainproof build

Gasket-sealed, rainproof housings made for outdoor work. Keep the plug itself out of standing water.

DIY-friendly

Color-coded terminals and clear LINE/LOAD markings. If you can strip a wire, you can fit it.

// Questions

Before you buy.

Which one fits my pressure washer?
Both replacement plugs fit any 120V, 15A-or-lower pressure washer with a 3-wire grounded cord (black, white and green wires inside the old plug). The difference is after a trip: the manual-reset plug waits for you to press RESET, the auto-reset plug restores power by itself once it's safe.
Is auto-reset safe?
Auto-reset only restores power after a clean event, like a brief outage or a fault that has cleared. If a ground fault is still present, the plug stays tripped. It suits pumps and equipment nobody is holding. For hand-held tools, many people prefer manual reset.
Do I need an electrician?
No. The replacement plugs use three labeled screw terminals and take about five minutes. Always unplug the cord from the wall before working on it. If you're not comfortable with wiring, the extension cord gives you GFCI protection with no wiring at all.
My old plug only has 2 wires. Will these fit?
These are 3-prong grounded models and need a 3-wire cord. Kaper also makes a 2-prong version. Contact us and we'll point you to it.
How do I test it?
Plug it in and the indicator light comes on. Press TEST and power should cut. Press RESET and power comes back. Test monthly. If TEST doesn't cut power, stop using it and contact us.

Always follow the included instructions and local electrical codes. Unplug equipment before installing. If you're not comfortable working with electrical wiring, consult a licensed electrician. A GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock but does not replace safe work practices.
